For this project, I decided to make a wordpress site, album cover using photoshop and a single using audition. The voices in the single and the silhouettes in the album cover are two of my friends. They’re twins with extremely unique laughs which is why I created the name Luxurious Laughter. The way I made the wordpress site is pretty self-explanatory. I added a homepage and an about page to make the site more coherent, but both of those pages contain your standard explanation for the site. I customized each page, including gifs and the background that you see on the home page. 

I created the album cover in a number of steps. First, I told them that I needed a picture of the two of them and they proceeded to put on the goofiest outfits they had. Then, they grabbed a few props and followed that with one of the oddest poses you’ll ever see. It was a bit fitting though as it seems like artists are always doing something strange on their album covers. Next, I took this photo and put it in photoshop. I then selected both of them using the selection tool and copied them into a new document. I changed them to silhouettes by using the camera raw filter. Then, I took a picture of the granite countertop in my apartment. I adjusted the colors to make it purple and made it a bit more transparent so the silhouettes would really pop. I really zoomed in on the granite in order to get a special texture and pattern in the background. Lastly, I added the group title and selected a font that I thought would fit properly. 

To create the single, I recorded each of my friends saying five sentences or so. As you can tell, one of my friends is obsessed with Zion Williamson, a rookie in the NBA. Anyways, I recorded them saying these things and created a collage with these sentences and some of the sounds from our first audition project. I altered some of these phrases using the stretch and pitch effect and the echo effect. I felt that these effects really fit well with the repetition and stutter that went on throughout the piece. Then, once I created the collage, I put it into a multitrack. I then added a faint ticking sound along with a few other sounds that overlapped with the collage. These other sounds are similar to a thump and the sound a typewriter makes. They’re difficult to describe and not incredibly noticeable unless you try to focus on them. 

I really enjoyed this project and it was nice to be able to connect a few different pieces of what we’ve learned. The band idea is great for connecting different aspects because every musician needs all of these things. They have to create music and have someone to edit it. They also have to create an album cover which is shown every time someone wants to listen to one of their songs. Clearly, the album cover is almost as important as the music and it must be a proper representation of what the artist is trying to display. Then, the band needs to provide a platform for the listener which is exactly what the wordpress site does. Connecting all of these things made the final project one of my favorites.
